God bless Mrs. Mac!
God touched Linda McCasland at an early age. After losing her mother to ovarian cancer at age 9, her father was unable to care for her and her siblings. Mrs. Mac lived in the Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock, and her faith grew in God and the desire to serve God's children.
Her journey as a leader in child development and primary education began in 1984, when she received her Professional Administrative Credentials to become the Director of Cornerstone Connection Private Christian School. After 13 years serving at Cornerstone, her prayer was to have a school of her own in Georgetown. That blessing became reality in 1998, when Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars opened its doors.
Mrs. Mac's started with 32 children, and with God's grace and mercy, enrollment increased to 134 children in the first 5 months! The growth has not stopped and now, Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars offers care and Christian education to children 13 months to 10-11 years old (5th grade).
Mrs. Mac is grateful to the families that trust her to care for and educate their children and her wonderful, dedicated, and certified staff. The teachers and staff are the wind beneath her wings.
This ministry, Mrs. Mac's Shining Stars, has been the most rewarding opportunity for the McCasland family. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6, if we "Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart from it." This is Mrs. Mac's mission and prayer. Mrs. Mac and her Shining Stars make a difference in the community as they continue to "Grow Kids God's Way."
